16-Hour Report Writing Course (MSK)

16-hour report writing course with on-demand and live instruction.

Overview

This course is approved by the California Division of Workers’  Compensation to satisfy the 16-hour Report Writing requirement to be  appointed as a QME. Course is comprised of 10 hours of on-demand training and 6 hours of live instruction. Course is sponsored by Support Claim Services (SCS). This course's focuses is for musculoskeletal specialties.   

Topics Covered

  • Module 1 - QME’s Role in the Process
  • Module 2 - Codes and Regulations
  • Module 3 - The Language of Reports*
  • Module 4 - The Administrative Director's Disability Evaluation Protocols
  • Module 5 – Employers - Stakeholders
  • Module 6 - The Report
  • Module 7 - Mechanics of Report Writing
  • Module 8 - BIAS - How to Identify and Avoid Bias
  • Module 9 - Case Law - Apportionment, Almaraz-Guzman, Escobedo, Benson, And Kite*


*Modules 3 and 8 will be taught during live instruction. 

Instruction

ON DEMAND: 10 hours of on-demand training is self-paced. You are encouraged to complete as much of this as possible before live instruction, but is not a requirement. 


LIVE INSTRUCTION: 6 hours of live instruction via Zoom will be July 7 @ 5pm PT and July 9, @ 5pm PT. You must attend BOTH dates.
